EMMITSBURG, MD (September 11, 2026) – Looking to continue positive momentum, Mount St. Mary's women's soccer hosts Quinnipiac in their Metro Conference home opener Saturday.  
 
MOUNT UPDATE
 
Heading to Iona to open Metro play, the Mount forced a scoreless draw with the Gaels. This is the second consecutive such result for the Mountaineers, matching their efforts against Richmond on August 30. Abby Makela preserved the clean sheet with six saves. Despite not scoring, the team's offense was efficient as five of the eight shots were on goal.
 
SCOUTING THE BOBCATS
 
In a high scoring affair, Quinnipiac fell to Niagara, 3-2, in their conference opener. The Bobcats do have two wins under their belt, defeating Yale and UAlbany. Morgan Cupo provides the offense, scoring five of the team's seven goals. Olivia Jarvis has 18 saves for the season.
 
SERIES HISTORY
 
Quinnipiac has the upper hand of this series, winning 13 of 19 matches. The Mount has won three times, and there are three draws. Since meeting as Metro opponents, the Bobcats lead 3-1, with the Mountaineers securing a 2-0 win in 2024.

The following Saturday (Sept. 19), the Mount heads to Saint Peter's for a match in Jersey City, NJ.
