NEW ROCHELLE, NY (September 5, 2026) – Mount Women's Soccer record second tie of the season against conference foe Iona as teams finish in a 0-0 draw.
Abby Makela started in goal, facing a total of 18 shots, making 7 saves - 6 of the 7 being in the first half. With Makela, the backline of Lindsay Heath,
Payton Meara and
Jessica Ras helped to deflect shots away from the goal, with Meara playing all 90 minutes' play.
The offense came alive towards the second half, after only recording two shots in the first half with
Fineen Cregan recording the first shot on goal by any team within 8 minutes of the first half. In the second half, the Mount shot six shots to make a total of eight for the game.
Peyton Gallagher was the leading shot taker for the Mount by recording three shots in the game, followed by
Cassidy Nichols and
Erin Antone who each had two.
UP NEXT
In a week (Sept. 12), the Mount will host the Quinnipiac Bobcats at Waldron Family Stadium, set to kick off at noon.
