ABOUT THE MOUNT
Mount St. Mary's men's tennis swept by Navy in back to back matches Saturday. Navy topped the Mount 6-1 in the first match and 7-0 in the second match. Freshman, Parth Sharma recorded the Mountaineer's lone point of the day during the first match. In the first match, Navy earned the early point advantage from doubles competition by winning all three flights. The Midshipmen recorded wins in the first, second, fourth, fifth, and sixth flights of singles action to secure the match 1 victory. The Mount's Sharma edged Navy's Andrey Majkic in three sets for the Mountaineers only point of the match. Majkic took the first set, 6-4.....Sharma took the next set 7-5 to force the tie-breaker set....and Sharma earned the flight win by defeating Majkic 10-6. In the second match, Navy again swept doubles action by winning all three flights to begin the match with the point advantage from doubles competition. The Midshipmen secured the match by taking all of the singles flights. Freshman, Jackson Wood forced a tie-breaker set but was topped 4-6, 6-3, 6-4 by Navy's Aries Wong. Jean Armstrong and Chris Lindsey also forced a tie-breaker set but fell in the fourth and sixth flight. Mount St. Mary's drops to 0-4 and Navy added two more wins to go to 12-4 on the season.
