Box Score Loretto, Pa. (October 7, 2018)—The Mount St. Mary's women's soccer team fell at Saint Francis U, 1-0, on Sunday afternoon. With the loss, the Mount falls to 1-1-2 overall and 2-7-3 overall.
After a scoreless first half, the Red Flash scored the lone goal of the game 7:51 into the second half. Sara Suler received a through pass from Mariana Jaleca and beat Mount goalkeeper Maggie Barron to give Saint Francis U the 1-0 lead. Leanna Choo added an assist on the play as well.
The Red Flash (5-6-3, 3-0-1 NEC) outshot the Mount, 19-to-6, in the game, including a 9-to-1 margin in shots on goal. Barron made eight saves for the Mountaineers while Julia Hernan made one save for the Red Flash. Gianna Pomykacz led the Mount offense with a pair of shots, including the Mount's lone shot on goal.
Mount St. Mary's is back in action on Sunday, October 14, when Sacred Heart visits Waldron Family Stadium for a 1:00 p.m. matchup.
