Baltimore (April 14, 2016) – Peter Landis claimed victory at No. 6 singles, but the Mount St. Mary's University men's tennis team fell at UMBC, 6-1, on Thursday afternoon.
Landis earned a 6-4, 6-4 victory at the sixth flight, but that was the lone victory for the Mount of the afternoon. Austin Blake fell, 6-3, 6-2, at No. 1 singles, Mateo DeSomocurcio dropped a 6-4, 7-6 decision at No. 2, Louis Tonon was topped, 6-4, 4-6, 6-4, at No. 3, Darren Mast fell, 6-1, 6-2, at the fourth flight and Brandon Wortkotter lost, 6-4, 7-6, at No. 5.
In doubles competition, Blake and DeSomocurcio dropped a 6-3 decision at the top flight, Tonon and Wortkotter wered edged, 7-6, at No. 2, and Landis and Mast fell, 6-1, at No. 3.
