Box Score St. Bonaventure, N.Y. (March 20, 2016) – Nicole Lantuh scored a career-high six goals and Nicole Snyder added four to propel Mount St. Mary's University women's lacrosse to an 18-11 victory at St. Bonaventure on Sunday.
Lantuh and Snyder's combined 10 goals paced the Mountaineer attack, while Kelly Maloney (3g, 2a) and Molly Morris (1g, 4a) added five points apiece. Sophomore Haley Jackson registered a pair of scores for the first of her career. Goalie Steph Rurkowski stopped 11 shots to collect her second win of the season in the Mount cage.
Mikayla Place led the Bonnies with three goals, and Rachel Perla, Scarlet Jaworski and Olivia McDonald each added two. Kerrigan Cummins took the loss in goal for St. Bonaventure.
St. Bonaventure tallied the first goal of the game before the Mount scored seven straight in a span of just over 10 minutes to take a 7-1 advantage. Lantuh registered three goals and Snyder added a pair to power the Mountaineers during the run.
Scarlet Jaworski ended the Mount's rally with the Bonnies second goal of the afternoon, but the Mount closed out the half with the final four scores, including two more from Lantuh, to take a commanding 11-2 lead.
The Bonnies notched three of the opening four goals of the second period to cut their deficit to 12-5, and Jaworski's second goal with 9:29 remaining brought St. Bonaventure within six, 14-8.
The Mount answered with the game's next three goals to go up 17-8 and essentially put the game out of reach. St. Bonaventure scored three late goals, but the Mountaineers went on for the 18-11 victory as they collected their second win of the season.
Mount St. Mary's returns to Emmitsburg for the beginning of a three-game home stand with a tilt against Detroit on Sunday, April 3 at 12 p.m.
