Mount Men's Tennis Clipped by Lehigh, 4-3

Bethlehem, Pa. (February 21, 2016) - The Mount St. Mary's men's tennis team was clipped by Lehigh on Sunday night at the Lewis Tennis Center, 4-3. Louis Tonon and Peter Salomon registered wins in singles action to lead the Mount.

Mount St. Mary's won two of three doubles matches as Tonon and Brandon Wortkotter topped Tyler Hansen and Jason Sutker, 6-4, in No. 2 doubles and Salomon and Darren Mast earned a 7-5 victory over Colin Nardella and Ethan Bogard at the third flight. Jeremy Kochman and Ricardo Prince earned Lehigh's only doubles win, beating Austin Blake and Mateo DeSomocurcio in No. 1 doubles action.

Tonon and Salomon continued their strong play in singles action as the duo earned the Mount a pair of points. Tonon topped Christopher Auteri, 1-6, 6-0, 6-3, at No. 3 singles and Salomon defeated Dylan Karchere-Sun, 6-2, 6-2, at the fifth flight. Kochman downed Blake, 6-3, 7-5, at No. 1 singles, Jack Peterson earned a 7-6, 6-3 win over DeSomocurcio at the second flight, Bogard registered a 6-2, 6-1 win over Mast at No. 4 singles and Nardella topped Wortkotter, 6-1, 6-4, at No. 6 singles as Lehigh was able ro register the 4-3 victory.

The Mountaineers open their spring trip with a match against Davenport in Florida on Sunday, February 28.
