MOUNT ST. MARY'S MEN'S AND WOMEN'S TENNIS

OPENING SERVE: The Mount St. Mary's University men's and women's tennis teams host Shepherd University on Wednesday at the Mount St. Mary's Tennis Courts.  It will be the Mount's first dual match of the season after opening the year at the Bucknell Quad Tournament this past weekend.

ABOUT SHEPHERD:  This will be the season opener for both the Shepherd men's and women's teams.  Shepherd's women's team finished last season with a 5-13 record while the men finished the year with an 8-15 record.

THE ALL-TIME SERIES:  The Mount women's team and Shepherd will be squaring off for the 12^th consecutive season with the Mountaineers holding a 13-0 lead in the all-time series.  The Mount men's team has won the past six matchups with the Rams, and hold an 11-6 lead in the all-time series.  This will be the 15^th consecutive season the teams have played each other.

BUCKNELL QUAD TOURNAMENT:  The Mountaineers had several solid performances at the season-opening Bucknell Quad Tournament this past weekend.  Click HERE for a full recap of the action.

PINCHOFF MAKES COACHING DEBUT:  Pinchoff made her debut as the head coach of the Mount's men's and women's tennis programs at the Bucknell Quad Tournament.  A 2014 Mount St. Mary's University graduate, she served as an assistant coach at the Mount last season. Pinchoff was one of the winningest doubles players in school history. Pinchoff is tied for fourth on the all-time list for career doubles wins with 52. Her most success as a player came while playing alongside Kelly Conroy as the doubles duo set a program record with 39 victories over a three-year stretch. 

ROSTER BREAKDOWN (MEN):   The Mount men's team has three seniors (Anthony Adams, Austin Blake, Peter Solomon), four juniors (Mateo DeSomocurcio, Mike Lake, Darren Mast, Louis Tonon), one sophomore (Brandon Wortkotter) and two freshmen (Peter Lands, Sean McNulty).

ROSTER BREAKDOWN (WOMEN):   The women's team has one senior (Isabella Draper), three juniors (Kayla Barrett, Erin Benefiel, Kelly Smith), three sophomores (Sam Barbato, Sruthi Kamprath, Cassandra Powell) and three freshmen (Emma Blake, Brittany Poje, Elizabeth Veronis).

SCHEDULE BREAKDOWN: Both the men's and women's teams have three dual matches in the fall (Shepherd on Sept. 9, LaSalle on Oct. 10 and Rider on Oct. 19).  Both teams are also competing in the Bucknell Quad Tournament (Sept. 4-6), the Loyola Invitational (Sept. 18-20 for men; Sept. 25-27 for women), the Mount St. Mary's Invitational (Oct. 2-4) and the ITA Regional Championships (Oct. 15-17).  The women's team also will compete at the George Mason Invitational on Sept. 12.
