The Mount St. Mary's men's tennis team heads to the Loyola Invitational this weekend. The tournament will feature the Mount, Loyola, Johns Hopkins and Morgan State.
TOURNAMENT FORMAT: The 2015 Loyola Men's Tennis Invitational will be played as a Points Of The Compass draw.
At the end of each round, the winners continue their competition in the same direction, while the losers move to a traditional consolation bracket and then to satellite brackets that ensure each team will play four matches.
Each school will enter four doubles teams, and each line of the bracket will be played by opposing pairs. The teams will play an eight-game pro-set doubles match, and the individuals will then face each other in best-of-three formats with the third set played as a super-tiebreaker.
MOUNT UPDATE: The Mountaineers were last in action on September 9 when they swept past Shepherd, 7-0, in the home opener. Click HERE for a full recap.
Louis Tonon and Peter Salomon each lead the team with four singles wins this season while Mateo DeSomocurcio and Darren Mast have teamed for a 2-0 record in doubles play.
UP NEXT: The Mountaineers hosts the Mount St. Mary's Invitational October 2-4 at the MSM Tennis Courts.
