Mount St. Mary's Women's Soccer Loses to Towson at the Battle of Baltimore

Baltimore, Md. (September 11, 2015)--The Mount St. Mary's women's soccer team fell to Towson, 4-0, on Friday night at the Battle of Baltimore.

Towson (4-2-1) scored three times in the first half to take control of the game.  The Tigers scored in the 22nd minute on a corner kick that deflected off Mount goalkeeper Vicky Cocozza and a Mount defender.  McKenzie McCaul scored in the 32nd minute while Kate Fullerton's goal in the 36th minute made it 3-0. Towson rounded out the scoring the 57th minute.

The Mount (0-7) was outshot, 22-to-8, in the game with Towson holding a 5-to-2 edge in corner kicks.  Cocozza played the first half in goal for the Mount, making a pair of saves.  Rachel Bourne played the second half, posting four saves while allowing one goal.  Nicole Vallely led the Mount offense with a pair of shots.

The Mountaineers host the final round of the Battle of Baltimore on Sunday at Waldron Family Stadium on campus.  The Mount plays UMBC at 2:30 p.m. while Towson and Loyola square off at noon.
