Emmitsburg, Md. (April 1, 2015) – Continuing its stretch of strong play, the Mount St. Mary's women's tennis team extended its winning streak to four matches with Wednesday's 7-0 victory against visiting Coppin State at the Mount Tennis Courts.

Reigning Northeast Conference Rookie of the Week Sruthi Kamprath (Sinking Spring, Pa.) helped the Mountaineers (9-5) pick up their seventh win in a row in the series with Coppin State (1-4) with wins in doubles and singles on the afternoon.

Kamprath and Cassandra Powell (Vienna, W.Va.) defeated Coppin State's top pairing of Ashley Milo and Miranda Taylor, 8-2, while Danielle Nguyen (Bel Air, Md.) and Erin Benefiel (Lake Mary, Fla.) earned an 8-1 victory at No. 2 doubles. The Eagles defaulted at No. 3 doubles.

Moving onto singles, Benefiel cruised to a 6-1, 6-4 win over Carentxa Goede at the No. 1 position, and Kelly Smith (Davenport, Wash.) added to the Mount's point total with her 6-3, 6-2 win at No. 2 singles. Kamprath and Jennifer Smith (Davenport, Wash.) picked up straight-set wins at No. 3 and No. 4 singles.

The Mount looks for its fifth win in a row with tomorrow's road match at Northeast Conference foe Saint Francis U.
