Emmitsburg, Md. (March 28, 2015) – Facing a shorthanded St. Francis Brooklyn squad, the Mount St. Mary's women's tennis team cruised to a 7-0 victory at the Mount Tennis Courts in Northeast Conference action on Saturday.

The Mountaineers (8-5, 2-0 NEC) picked up their third win in a row with a sweep of St. Francis Brooklyn (0-12, 0-2 NEC). The Terriers defaulted at the three doubles matches as well as the No. 6 singles slot as the Mount won No. 1-5 singles in straight sets.

Erin Benefiel (Lake Mary, Fla.), Kelly Smith (Davenport, Wash.), Sruthi Kamprath (Sinking Spring, Pa.) and Cassandra Powell (Vienna, W.Va.) earned 6-0, 6-0 singles victories at No. 1-4, respectively. Danielle Nguyen (Bel Air, Md.) also had no problem in a 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 5 singles.

The Mount returns to action with a home match versus Coppin State on Wednesday, April 1, at 3 p.m.
