Seipp, who now has 101 career points with 76 goals and 25 assists, picked up her 100th point on an assist with 1:59 left in the first half on Thursday. The Mount (1-7) could not slow down the high-powered offense of Lehigh (5-5), which pulled away with 10 second-half goals.
"That was a good Lehigh team that we played today. They were disciplined on both sides of the ball," Mount St. Mary's Head Coach Lauren Schwarzmann said. "I think our defense did really well in the first half. We definitely didn't take quality shots in the second half, and we had some untimely turnovers. We are looking forward to playing again on Sunday and fixing our mistakes."
The Mountain Hawks were led by six goals from Allison LeBeau to go with three tallies from Carli Sukonik. Lauren Beausoleil and Krista Dampman also netted two goals apiece for Lehigh.
For the Mountaineers, freshman Nicole Lantuh (Bethesda, Md.) tied a career high with four points on three goals and one assist. Sophomore Sammie Knapp (Cub Hill, Md.) scored for the eighth-consecutive game with Marley Heller (Baltimore, Md.) and Kelly Maloney (Ellicott City, Md.) also adding to the goal total.
Lehigh scored the first five goals of the game until the Mount got on the board on a Lantuh strike off a feed from Megan Gluck (South Riding, Va.) with 11:48 left before halftime.
After a quick strike from Lehigh to push the lead to 6-1, the Mount answered with the final three goals of the half to cut the deficit to 6-4 at the break. Maloney started the run with a goal with 6:18 left in the half, while Seipp and Lantuh added goals before halftime.
Lehigh again shot out of the gate with three goals in the first five minutes of the second half for a 9-4 lead. Goals from Knapp and Seipp sandwiched a goal for the Mountain Hawks to put the Mount down 10-6 with 20 minutes remaining.
Over the final 20 minutes, Lehigh would outscore the Mount by a 6-2 margin to earn the win.
The Mountain Hawks held a 19-7 advantage on draw controls and outshot the Mount by a 32-17 margin. In ground balls, Heller scooped up a career high five for the Mountaineers. In goal, sophomore Steph Rurkowski (Manlius, N.Y.) picked up seven saves for the home side, while Taylor Tvedt and Elizabeth Nussbaum combined for six saves for Lehigh.
