MOUNT UPDATE: The Mount St. Mary's women's tennis team makes its spring home debut with a 3 p.m. match versus UMES at the Mount Tennis Courts on Saturday, March 21. Cassandra Powell and Jennifer Smith lead the Mountaineers with nine singles victories apiece during the 2014-15 season.

LAST TIME OUT: The Mount was handed a 5-2 road loss at Bucknell on March 18. Freshman Cassandra Powell picked up a 4-6, 6-1, 10-5 victory over Stephanie Pino at the No. 4 singles slot, while senior Jennifer Smith defeated Alyssa McAndrew, 7-6 (9-7), 6-2 in No. 6 singles play.

ABOUT UMES: The Hawks are 0-3 in the spring season with losses to Salisbury, Towson and Penn State Abington. Alese Brown, Melequa King and DaTonya Prince have all picked up singles wins for UMES this year.

LAST SEASON VS. UMES:  The Mount defeated UMES, 7-0, at the Mount Tennis Courts on March 22, 2014. The Mount beat the short-handed Hawks with two wins in doubles and four in singles. UMES defaulted at No. 3 doubles as well as No. 5 and No. 6 singles.

ALL-TIME SERIES VS. UMES: The Mount has gone 3-0 versus UMES in the all-time series, winning all three matches by 7-0 margins. The Mount/UMES series started in 2008.
