Lewisburg, Pa. (March 18, 2015) – The Mount St. Mary's men's tennis team was handed a 6-1 road loss at Bucknell on Wednesday. Sophomore Mateo DeSomocurcio (Lima, Peru) picked up the Mount's point with his No. 2 singles victory.
Bucknell (6-6) won two of the doubles matches to take the point. The Mount (6-4) won the No. 3 doubles match with Louis Tonon (Charlotte, N.C.) and Darren Mast (Lancaster, Pa.) earning an 8-7 (7-2) victory.
In singles, DeSomocurcio played his way to a 7-6 (7-4), 6-4 win over Bryan Adams. Bucknell picked up straight-set victories in No. 1, 3, 4 and 5 singles. At No. 6, Peter Salomon (Haymarket, Va.) forced a third set tiebreaker before falling to William Szamosszegi.
The Mount will return to action with home matches versus UMES on Saturday and Delaware on Sunday.
