The Mount will look to bounce back after a tough 12-11 overtime loss to Furman last time out on March 7.

LAST TIME OUT: Mount St. Mary's rallied from a six-goal deficit to force overtime, but lost a heartbreaker, 12-11, to Furman at Waldron Family Stadium on Saturday afternoon. Freshman Nicole Lantuh and sophomore Kelly Maloney both scored three goals in the game for the Mountaineers. Mount goalkeeper Steph Rurkowski made nine saves, while Maggie Friel had 11 saves for Furman. Furman held a slight 26-24 edge in shots and an 18-16 advantage in ground balls. Three Furman players scored two goals apiece to lead the offense.

ABOUT AMERICAN: After opening the season with a 16-12 win over Northeast Conference opponent Wagner, the Eagles have dropped five-consecutive games entering Wednesday. Madison Hoon is the leading scorer for the Eagles with 14 goals, while Olivia Mangan has dished out eight assists. Defensively, American is giving up 11.37 goals per game. American is coming off a 13-5 loss to Boston U on Saturday, March 7, in the Patriot League opener.

LAST SEASON VS. AMERICAN: The Mount scored the final four goals of the game, but it was not enough as the team's comeback fell short in an 11-9 home loss to American on March 5, 2014. Kelly Maloney scored a season-high four goals, and then-senior Lindsay Diaz racked up three for the Mount. Between the pipes, Mount goalkeeper Steph Rurkowski made 14 saves. For American, Alex Lugovina secured five points with three goals and two assists.

ALL-TIME SERIES VS. AMERICAN: The Mount carries a 2-8 all-time record versus American, which has won seven in a row over the Mountaineers. The two sides first squared off on April 24, 1996 in the first season of varsity lacrosse for Mount St. Mary's. The Mount is 2-2 on the road in the series with the last win coming on March 12, 1998, by a 15-14 score in triple overtime.

MOUNT VS. THE PATRIOT LEAGUE: Wednesday's game is the first of two contests versus Patriot League opponents this season with a March 24 home game versus Lehigh also on the schedule for the Mount. Versus the teams that currently make up the Patriot League, the Mount has gone 4-16.

NEC AWARD: Sophomore Kelly Maloney picked up NEC Offensive Player of the Week honors on Monday, March 9, after scoring nine goals in a two-game stretch versus St. Bonaventure and Furman. She is the first Mount player to be recognized by the NEC with a weekly award this season.

APPROACHING 100: Mount senior Erin Seipp has tallied 93 career points with 70 goals and 23 assists. She is on pace to become the 19th player in Mount history to reach 100 career points.

SPREAD THE LOVE: Through four games, four different players have recorded multi-goal games for the Mount. Kelly Maloney has netted two or more goals on three occasions this season with Sammie Knapp also accomplishing the feat twice.
