Fairfax, Va. (September 6, 2014) – In the first action of the 2014 fall season, the Mount St. Mary's women's tennis team competed at the Mason Invitational on Saturday.

Sisters Jennifer Smith and Kelly Smith teamed up for an 8-6 win at No. 1 doubles over Kate Huck and McKinney Harwood of Christopher Newport. Adding another win in No. 2 doubles play, the all-freshman duo of Sruthi Kamprath and Cassandra Powell picked up an 8-7 win against Olivia Lacy-Thompson and Scarlett Walston of George Mason. 

Seeing her first collegiate action, Kamprath was also victorious at No. 3 singles in a three-set thriller versus Christopher Newport's Logan Eldridge.

The Mount is back in action on Sept. 12-14 with the Tiger Classic hosted by Towson University in Towson, Md.
