Mount Men's Cross Country Sixth at Ted Owen Invitational

MEN'S RESULTS | WOMEN'S RESULTS

The Mount St. Mary's men's cross country team finished in sixth place at the Ted Owen Invitational while the women's team placed eighth on Saturday at Stanley Quarter Park in New Britain, Conn.  Tommy Gruschow led the men's team while Kristen Galligan was the top finisher for the women.

For the men's team, Gruschow finished in 18th place overall with a time of 27:35.20 for the 8-kilometer course.  Chris Evans and Jesse Langon had good showings as well, finishing 24th (27:56.50) and 25th (27:57.10) overall.  Thomas Selishev and Kody Wilson rounded out the Mount's top five.

CCSU finished in first place on the men's side, followed by Boston University, Temple, Saint Francis U, Bryant and the Mount in the 14-team field.  The meet featured eight Northeast Conference teams in a preview of the course for this year's NEC Championships.

The Mount women finished in eighth place in the 14-team field.  Galligan led the way,finishing 12th overall with a time of 18:22.60 for the 5-kilometer course.  Megan Schott was 29th in a time of 19:23.40.  McKenzie Doyle, Jill Greenwald and Desi Scott rounded out the top five for the Mount.

Boston University won the women's meet.

The Mount is back in action next week at the Paul Short Run hosted by Lehigh University.
