Mount Men's Tennis Takes on Shepherd on Wednesday for First Dual Match this Fall

MOUNT ST. MARY'S (0-0) at SHEPHERD (0-1)
Wednesday, Sept. 24 | 3 p.m.
Shepherdstown, W. Va.

MOUNT UPDATE: After a busy weekend at the George Mason Invitational, the Mount men's tennis team is headed to take on Shepherd in the squad's first dual match of the season. The Mount has won five previous matches against Shepherd, and looks to continue its streak on Wednesday.

LAST TIME OUT: The Mount ran into tough competition, going head-to-head with the likes of George Mason, UMBC and Mary Washington last weekend at the George Mason Invitational.

ABOUT SHEPHERD: The Shepherd Rams play at the Division II level in the Mountain East Conference.  The Rams are currently 0-1 this season after a tough loss against the University of the District of Columbia by a 9-0 final score on Sept. 9.

LAST TIME VS. SHEPHERD: The Mountaineers look to add to their 10-6 record all-time against Shepherd, but it is going to be tough to outdo their match last year when the Mount won 6-1.  The Mount was led by Peter Salomon, who won both a singles and doubles match.

OPENING THE SEASON: The Mount men's tennis team has an 11-15 record all-time in season openers and is 4-1 all-time in season openers against Shepherd.

UP NEXT: The men's tennis team makes its home debut on Friday, Oct. 3, through Sunday, Oct. 5, at the Mount St. Mary's Invitational.  The tournament will be held at the Mount Tennis Courts, located on the east side of campus.
