Lewisburg, Pa. (September 19, 2014) – Opening the Bucknell Invitational on Friday, the Mount women's tennis team put together a strong first day with three singles and three doubles wins. 

In singles play, freshman Sruthi Kamprath continued her consistent fall season with a 6-1, 6-1 flight B victory over Bucknell's Aida Diop, while fellow freshman Cassandra Powell added her first career victory in Flight C singles action.

In Flight D play, junior Isabella Draper cruised to a straight-set 6-2, 6-0 win over Samantha Smith of Bloomsburg.

Moving on to doubles, the all-freshman pairing of Kamprath and Powell defeated Alyssa McAndrew and Emilie Bush from Bucknell, 8-0, in flight A. Sisters Jennifer Smith and Kelly Smith were also victorious in their flight A match by an 8-2 margin over Diop and Caitlin Flynn from Bloomsburg. In flight B doubles, Danielle Nguyen and Erin Benefiel beat Iliana Anapolsky and Lindsey Tennis of Bloomsburg by an 8-2 score.

Play continues tomorrow morning before wrapping up on Sunday.
