MOUNT UPDATE: The Mount men's tennis team competes for the second time this fall with the two-day George Mason Invitational slated for Sept. 20 and 21.
THE FIELD: The field for the weekend action includes the Mount, George Mason, UMBC and Division III Mary Washington.

LAST TIME OUT: Sophomore Mateo DeSomocurcio shined in the season-opening tournament at Bucknell on Sept. 5-7 with a 3-1 singles record. DeSomocurcio took down Loyola's Reid Burch in the flight A consolation finals to conclude the opening weekend. Senior Adam Salam added a singles victory in flight A, while sophomore Darren Mast picked up a win in flight B play. In doubles, Salam and DeSomocurcio claimed a flight A win, as did the tandem of Peter Salomon and Louis Tonon.
LAST YEAR'S GEORGE MASON INVITATIONAL: In last year's play, Will Briscoe defeated UMBC's Andrew Pagan, 6-2, 3-6, 13-11 on the second day of action for the Mount, which faced George Mason on day one and Mary Washington and UMBC on day two.
UP NEXT: The Mount plays its first dual match of the season at Shepherd on Wednesday, Sept. 24, in Shepherdstown, W. Va. First serve is scheduled for 3 p.m.
