MOUNT UPDATE: The sixth-seeded Mountaineers are looking for their first-ever Northeast Conference Championship and spot in the NCAA Tournament. A win over third-seeded Saint Francis U would propel the Mount into the semifinals against the winner of No. 2 Fairleigh Dickinson and No. 7 Wagner. As a team, the Mount has won 55.8 percent of its doubles matches led by the No. 3 tandem of Austin Blake and Mike Zabetakis, who carry a 15-3 mark heading into the NEC Championships.

ABOUT THE CHAMPIONSHIPS:  The tournament is single elimination beginning with the quarterfinals on Thursday leading up to Saturday's championship match with a berth in the NCAA Tournament on the line.

LAST TIME OUT: In the regular season finale on Sunday, April 13, the Mount was handed a 4-3 road loss at Saint Peter's. The Mount won the doubles point for the third match in a row with victories at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles. At No. 2, Adam Salam paired with Mateo DeSomocurcio for an 8-6 win, and Austin Blake and Mike Zabetakis were 8-5 winners at No. 3. In singles, DeSomocurcio (No. 3) and Louis Tonon (No. 6) added wins to help the Mount's point total.

ABOUT SAINT FRANCIS U: Winners of three in a row, Saint Francis is the No. 3 seed after taking fifth in the NEC Preseason Coaches Poll. Eli Cerdan leads the Red Flash with 14 singles wins, playing a majority of the season at the No. 3 slot. Saint Francis picked up NEC wins in the regular season against St. Francis Brooklyn, Robert Morris and the Mount.

ALL-TIME SERIES VS. SAINT FRANCIS U: The Mount is 18-10 in the all-time series versus Saint Francis and had won two in a row before a 4-3 loss to the Red Flash on March 15, 2014.

AT LAST YEAR'S CHAMPIONSHIPS: As the fourth seed at last year's NEC Championships, the Mount blanked fifth-seeded Robert Morris for a 4-0 victory in the quarterfinals before falling to Bryant in the semifinals by the same 4-0 margin.

DOUBLES POINT: In 21 matches on the season, the Mount has won the doubles point 15 times. In four NEC matches, the only time the Mount did not win the doubles point was against Saint Francis on March 15.

KEEPING IT CLOSE: The Mount has played eight matches that have finished with a 4-3 final score. Of the eight matches, the Mount has been victorious in three of them.
