Mount Men's Tennis Falls to Navy, 6-1

Annapolis, Md. (March 9, 2014) – The Mount St. Mary's men's tennis team fell to Navy on the road on Sunday at the Tose Family Tennis Center by a final score of 6-1. Freshman Louis Tonon won his fourth singles match of the season at No. 6 on the day.

Tonon, who dropped the first set versus Tyler Tossavainen, bounced back with a 6-3 second-set victory to force a third set. In the decisive third set, the freshman earned a 10-6 win to pick up a point for the Mountaineers (6-4).

Navy (9-5) was able to win all three of the doubles matches on the day to take a 1-0 edge heading into singles play.

In singles, the Mids were victorious in straight sets at No. 1-5 until Tonon picked up the Mount's lone win in the final match to finish on the afternoon.

Next on the schedule, the Mount hosts Saint Francis U on March 15 and Robert Morris on March 16 to kick off Northeast Conference play.
