Emmitsburg, Md. (March 16, 2014) – The Mount men's tennis team fell to Robert Morris, 4-3, on Sunday afternoon at home. Freshman Mateo DeSomocurcio picked up wins in doubles and singles action on the day.
The Mount (6-7, 0-2 NEC) earned the doubles point with wins at No. 2 and 3. DeSomocurcio teamed up with Adam Salam for an 8-3 win at No. 2, while Austin Blake and Mike Zabetakis were 8-5 winners at No. 3 doubles.
In singles, Robert Morris (0-6) won four of six matches for the victory. The Mount picked up two wins, however with DeSomocurcio (No. 3) and freshman Darren Mast (No. 6) securing straight-set victories.
The Mount is scheduled to host Bucknell on Wednesday, March 19, at 3 p.m.
