MOUNT UPDATE: The Mount is in the home stretch of the fall season with two matches remaining, including Saturday's showdown with La Salle at noon. Sophomore Mateo DeSomocurcio leads the Mountaineers with a 6-5 singles record on the year.

LAST TIME OUT: The Mount completed a successful two-day Mount St. Mary's Invitational with wins in the flight A and B doubles championship matches, as well as in the flight B singles championship. In flight A doubles, junior Austin Blake and freshman Brandon Wortkotter downed teams from Gettysburg, Loyola and Howard to claim the top spot. Sophomore Darren Mast, who also won the flight B singles title, paired with his classmate Louis Tonon for the flight B doubles championship.

ABOUT LA SALLE: The Explorers have had a busy fall with six dual matches in addition to one tournament. Carrying a 2-4 record, La Salle has picked up wins versus University of the Sciences and St. Peter's.

LAST SEASON VS. LA SALLE: After winning the doubles point, the Mount slipped up in singles action with losses in four of the six matches to suffer a 4-3 defeat. It was La Salle's first-ever win over the Mount. In singles, Peter Salomon registered a No. 2 victory, while Darren Mast was victorious at the No. 4 slot.

ALL-TIME SERIES VS. LA SALLE: The Mountaineers are a perfect 3-0 in home matches versus the Explorers with a 6-1 lead in the all-time series. Saturday's match will mark the seventh time the two sides have squared off in the last eight fall seasons.

MOUNT AT HOME: The Mount is playing its first home dual match of the season. Last year, the Mount went 3-3 at the Mount Tennis Courts. 

UP NEXT: The Mount is set to conclude the fall portion of its schedule with a home match versus Rider on Sunday, Oct. 19, at noon.
