Fairfax, Va. (September 22, 2013) – Mount St. Mary's concluded the George Mason Invitational with matchups in singles and doubles against Division III powerhouse Mary Washington as well as singles action versus in-state rival UMBC to conclude the invitational portion of the fall season.

In singles versus UMBC, junior Will Briscoe held on for a three-set victory over Andrew Pagan. After taking the first set, 6-2, Briscoe saw Pagan pull even with a 6-3 win of his own. Briscoe regained form in the decisive tiebreaker with a 13-11 victory to pick up his second win of the season.

Sophomore Austin Blake, who played No. 1 singles, fell just short in a loss to UMBC's Justin Carter. Blake managed a 6-2 win in the opening set, but Carter responded with scores of 6-3 and 10-3 to close the match.

Up next, the Mount will play its first dual match of the fall season when it hosts Shepherd on Wednesday, Sept. 25, at 3 p.m.
