Moon Township, Pa. (April 7, 2013)-- The Mount women's tennis team knocked off NEC foe Robert Morris 5-2 on Sunday. The Mount won five of the six singles matches, after losing two of the three doubles matches to earn the victory. With the win, the women improve to 7-9 overall and 2-2 in NEC play.

Renee Deane and Carly Landini won the only doubles match for the Mount at the No. 2 spot. The duo defeated Samantha Alves and Clarissa Chen, 8-5. Sam Pinchoff and Kelly Conroy lost at the No. 1 spot to Marie-Sophie Heine and Dounia Zinbi by a score of 8-6. Liz Rossi and Taylor D'Agostino were defeated by C. Texeira and Isabella Novella at No. 3 doubles, 8-2.

The Mount won five of six singles matches to complete the come from behind win. Kelly Conroy and Renee Deane needed three sets each to win at No. 1 and 3 respectively. Conroy knocked off Texeira; 4-6, 7-5, 7-6 (8-6). Deane defeated Alves 3-6, 7-5, 10-8. Sam Pinchoff, Carly Landini and Liz Rossi all won in straight sets. Pinchoff downed Heine 6-3, 6-3 at No. 2, while Landini defeated Chen 6-4, 6-4 at the No. 4 spot. Rossi completed the wins with a 6-2, 6-1 victory over Zinbi at No. 5.

The women return to action when they host the Greyhound of Loyola on Wednesday April 10. The match with in state rival Loyola begins at 3:00 PM.
