Baltimore, Md. (April 6, 2013)--The Mount St. Mary's men's tennis team cruised to a 6-1 win at Morgan State on Saturday.
The Mount took a 1-0 lead in the match by taking two of three doubles matches to earn the doubles point. Matthew Blake and Taylor Place fell to Evan Ward and Eric Ward, 8-3, at No. 1 doubles. However, Mike Salomon and Adam Salam combined for an 8-5 win at No. 2 doubles over Duk Young-Park and Dmitriy Borodkin with Mike Zabetakis and Austin Blake earning an 8-4 win over Duwane Thomas and Ondre Cargill at No. 3 doubles.
In singles play, Blake was a 6-3, 6-1 winnver over Young-Park at No. 1 singles while Salam won 7-6, 7-6 over Evan Ward at No. 2.
Cargill defeated Salomon in three sets (6-3, 4-6, 6-2) at No. 3 singlesm but Austin Blake was a 6-0, 6-4 winner against Eric Ward at No. 4 singles. Zabetakis cruised to a 6-1, 6-1 victory against Borodkin at No. 5 singles.
