Emmitsburg, Md. (April 3, 2013)-- The Mount women's tennis team defeated Coppin State 7-0 on Wednesday afternoon at the MSM Tennis Courts. The Mount won every match on their way to win that brings them to 6-7 overall and 1-1 in NEC play on the season.

The Mount won all three doubles match to earn the doubles point. Kelly Conroy and Sam Pinchoff got the scoring started with an 8-0 victory at the No. 1 spot over Ashley Milo and Miranda Taylor. The sophomore duo of Taylor D'Agostino and Danielle Nguyen defeated Katherine Chisholm and Jennifer Mitchell at the No. 2 spot. D'Agostino and Nguyen were 8-4 winners. Carly Landini and Isabella Draper won by default because Coppin State could not field a third team. 

Kelly Conroy won her singles match, 6-0, 6-0 over Chisholm at the No. 1 spot. Her doubles partner Sam Pinchoff followed suit with a 6-0, 6-1 victory over Ashley Milo at the No. 2 spot. Landini continued her hot streak with a 6-0, 6-1 win at the No. 3 spot. Landini defeated Miranda Taylor. Liz Rossi and Jenny Smith completed the sweep with a pair of 6-0, 6-0 decisions. Rossi downed Mitchell at the No. 4 spot, and Smith beat Lauretta Mukan at the No. 5 spot. Taylor D'Agostino picked up a win by default, as Coppin State could not field a player at the six spot. 

The women return to action with three matches this weekend. The Mount hosts St. Francis Pa on Friday starting at 2:30 PM. The women then head to Morgan State (Saturday, 12:00 PM) and Robert Morris (Sunday, 2:00 PM).
