The Mount St. Mary's women's tennis team was edged by Bucknell, 4-3, on Wednesday afternoon.
Due to the cold weather, the match started with singles play with the Mount capturing wins at No. 4 singles and No. 5 singles. Liz Rossi defefated Ellie Fraser, 6-1, 6-1, at the No. 5 position while Carly Landini posted a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 4 singles over Christie Schneider.
Bucknell held a 3-2 lead with Kelly Conroy and Elena Vidrascu heading to a third set at No. 1 singles. The teams also started doubles play at that point, and Bucknell captured wins at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles to earn the doubles point and seal the win.
Conroy then downed Vidrascu, 4-6, 6-4, 7-6 at No .1 singles to make the final score 4-3.
Mount St. Mary's is back in action on Tuesday, April 2, at Robert Morris.
