Women's Tennis Tangles With Bucknell on Wednesday Afternoon

Opening Serve: The Mount women's tennis team comes into the match with Bucknell 5-6 overall and 1-1 in NEC play. The team is coming off a 5-0 loss to Delaware on Sunday. The Blue Hens won the doubles match and all four singles matches to secure the victory. The match was shortened due to a limited number of available courts. 

About the Bison: Bucknell comes into the match with the Mountaineers with a 4-7 overall and 0-1 in Patriot League play. The Bison are coming off a 7-0 loss at the hands of Patriot League foe Navy. The Midshipmen won all six singles matches and two of the three doubles matches to sweep the Bison. Bucknell did win at No. 1 doubles with Maria Cioffi and Elena Vidrascu winning 8-7 (7-4).

About Last Year: The match with Bucknell was cancelled due to rain with no makeup played. 

Same Old, Same Old: The Mount returns all but one starter from last year. The starting five all return from last year, minus Lauren Clark (Colt's Neck, NJ/ Red Bank Catholic).  The team features a slew of veteran experience, with five upperclassmen. The team is spear headed by seniors Kelly Conroy (Tallahassee, Fla./ John Paul II),Renee Deane (Cape Coral, Fla./ Cape Coral), and Carly Landini (Newark, Del./ Archmere Academy).

Dynamic Duo: The duo of juniors Sam Pinchoff (Sylvan Lake, Mich./ West Bloomfield) and Liz Rossi (Flanders, NY/ Bishop McGann-Mercy) helped the Mount to their 12-8 record last year. Pinchoff played No.1 singles and finished up with 9-13 record, and Rossi posted an 11-7 record in the No. 5 spot.

Up Next: The Mount women will travel to Moon Township on April 2 to face the Colonials of Robert Morris. Match time with Robert Morris is scheduled for 2:00 PM.
