Lawrenceville, N.J. (October 19, 2013) -- A sweep in the three doubles matches followed by wins in all six singles matches helped the Mount men's tennis team conclude a strong fall season with a convincing 7-0 win at Rider on Saturday afternoon. 

For the third match in a row, the Mount (2-1) took the doubles point and a 1-0 lead heading into singles play, where the Mountaineers swept Rider (1-11). 

The Mount's top doubles pairing of Peter Salomon and Louis Tonon continued to provide steady play at the top of the lineup with an 8-5 win over Rollie Malfitano and Nick Lubold. The Salomon/Tonon duo improved its record to 6-2 on the season. 

At No. 2 doubles, Austin Blake and Mike Zabetakis rolled in an 8-1 decision over Chanton Phan and Adam Levi, while the all-freshmen pairing of Matt Zabetakis and Darren Mast picked up an 8-0 win at No. 3. 

The Mount won all six singles matches in straight sets for the team's first 7-0 victory since last year's regular season finale versus Monmouth. 

Blake was a 6-1, 6-0 winner at No. 1 singles against Malfitano, and Salomon added his team-best fifth singles win by a score of 6-1, 6-1 in No. 2 action. 

Senior captain Mike Zabetakis was dominant, not dropping a game in a 6-0, 6-0 shutout of Lubold at No. 3 singles.  

A trio of freshmen, Mast (No. 4), Tonon (No. 5) and Matt Zabetakis (No. 6) handled their opponents in two sets to secure the 7-0 win. Mast defeated Levi, 6-3, 6-0, while Tonon made quick work of Sweeney, 6-4, 6-2 and Matt Zabetakis took down Edwin Chogollo, 6-2, 6-3. 

The match concluded the fall portion of the schedule for the Mount.
