Men's Tennis Falls to Fairleigh Dickinson, 4-0, in Northeast Conference semifinals

West Windsor, N.J. (April 21, 2012)--Fourth-seeded Mount St. Mary's lost to top-seeded Fairleigh Dickinson, 4-0, in the semfinals of the Northeast Conference championships held at the Mercer County Tennis Center on Saturday morning.

The Knights grabbed the early lead by taking the doubles point.  Dominic Hemy and Marco Jemersic teamed for an 8-4 win over the Mount's Adam Salam and Mike Salomon at No. 2 doubles while Patrick McGinley and Mike Zabetakis lost 8-4 at No. 3 doubles to FDU's Mark Hemy and Peter Skvarka.

In singles action, the Knights captured wins at No. 1, No. 5 and No. 6 singles to earn the victory.  Arvis Berzins defeated Matthew Blake, 6-3, 6-2, at the No. 1 position.  Skvarka downed Taylor Place, 6-1, 6-2, at No. 5 while Dominic Hemy was a 6-1, 6-1 winner at No. 6.  The other three matches were not completed.

The Mount finished the 2011-12 season with an 11-10 record.
