Emmitsburg, Md. (March 16, 2012)-- Freshman Jenny Smith provided the critical win at No. 6 singles, to lift the Mount over Niagara. Smith won 6-0, 6-2 over Rachell Zilha.
In doubles action, The Mount won two of the three matches to take the point and the early 1-0 lead. Samantha Pinchoff and Kelly Conroy won at the No. 1 spot over Hilary Hanson and Jen Celon, 8-5 and Liz Rossi and Lauren Clark won at the No. 3 spot over McCann and Zilha, 8-2.
In singles action, Conroy knocked off Celon in three sets, 4-6, 6-3, 6-2 at the No. 2 spot, and Liz Rossi picked up a victory over Vihi Sordellitti at the No. 5 spot. Rossi won in straight sets 6-0, 6-1.
The women return to action today, Saturday, against Robert Morris and St. Francis Pa. First serve against the Colonials is set for 12:00 PM
