Daytona Beach, Fla.—Mount St. Mary's women's tennis fell to Bethune-Cookman on Tuesday, 5-2. Bethune-Cookman took all three doubles matches to take the doubles point, and an early 1-0 lead.
The No. 2 doubles spot was the closest doubles match. Juniors Renee Deane and Carly Landini lsot 8-4 to Shereen Peterson-Paul and Stacey Speller.
In singles action, Kelly Conroy recorded another win at the No. 2 spot. Conroy downed her opponent, Gvantsa Robakidze in straight sets; 6-2, 6-1. Freshman Jennifer Smith also recorded a win at the No. 6 position. Smith defeated Nancy Gonzales in a three set thriller; 2-6, 7-5, 6-3.
The women return to action on March 2, when they face Davenport at 11:00 a.m.
