Men's Tennis Downed by UDC, 8-1

Washington, D.C. (September 13, 2011)—The men's tennis team lost to UDC 8-1, on Tuesday afternoon. Freshman Patrick McGinley (Coatesville, Pa./Coatesville) won the only point for the Mount at the No. 6 singles spot.

UDC swept the doubles matches to take an early 3-0 lead. Matthew Blake and Taylor Place lost at the No. 1 spot to UDC's Aleksander Grabovac and Simon Andersson, 8-3.

In single's action, Patrick McGinley provided the Mount with the lone win at No. 6 singles. McGinley beat Carlos Quiroga in straight sets; 6-3, 6-4. UDC swept the other singles matches in straight sets, except for the No. 5 spot where it went to three sets.

The Mount returns to action next Tuesday, September 20 when the host Shepherd at 3:00 p.m.
