Mount Update: The Women's team comes into Thursday's contest with the Tigers after their match with St. Joseph's was postponed due to rain. The team hasn't played in competition since September 20, when they defeated Shepherd 6-1 at home.
About Towson: The Tigers come into Thursday's contest 0-1 overall. They are coming off a 4-3 loss to St. Joe's on Tuesday afternoon. Towson won the doubles point before dropping four of the six singles matches, to lose the match.
Last Year: The Mount lost to Towson 7-0. The Mount lost all three doubles matches to lose the doubles point, before dropping all six singles matches.
The All-Time Series: This is the 20th meeting all-time between the two schools, with the Tigers holding a 9-11 lead in the series. The Mount's last victory came in 2009 when they defeated Towson 4-3 at Towson.
About Last Year: The team posted double digit wins for the 7th consecutive season. Five players recorded double digit wins in singles play, with sophomore Kelly Conroy (Tallahassee, Fla./John Paul II) having a solid record of 15-8. Conroy also went 15-7 in doubles play with her partner Samantha Pinchoff (Sylvan Lake, Mich./West Bloomfield).
Trio of Terror: The team's junior class is just as deadly as it is on the men's side. The group is made up of Kelly Conroy, Renee Deane (Cape Coral, Fla./Cape Coral), and Carly Landini (Newark, Del./Archmere Academy). Conroy boasts a 32-14 record for her singles career and an 18-13 doubles record. Deane has a 27-19 singles record and a 30-20 doubles record. Landini has posted 23 wins in both singles and doubles over her two years thus far.
Strong Future: The sophomore class has a two-headed monster of their own in Samantha Pinchoff and Liz Rossi (Flanders, N.Y./Bishop McGann-Mercy). Pinchoff and Rossi combined for 15 wins in their first season. Pinchoff had 12 of the 15, while Rossi had the other 3, going 3-1 on the year.
