Newark, Del. (October 15, 2011)--Dylan Bernard finished in sixth place to lead the Mount St. Mary's men's cross country team to a second-place finish at the Blue Hen Invitational hosted by the University of Delaware on Saturday at White Clay Creek Park.  The Mount women's team finished in third place behind Megan Kinsella's 11th-place finish.

Bernard finished the 8-kilometer course in 27:01.40 to pace the Mountaineers at the meet, finishing in sixth place overall.  The Mount had five runners finish in the top 20 as Chris Swisko (14th, 28:14.73), George Martinez (17th, 28:26.22), Kevin Pitts (17th, 28:31.77) and Tommy Gruschow (20th, 28:46.56) rounded out the top five.

Maryland took first place at the meet with 26 points, followed by the Mount at 73.  The Delaware Track Club, running unattached as a non-intercollegiate varsity team, earned 52 points which would have been good for second place.
