Men's Tennis Edges Robert Morris, 4-3

Emmitsburg, Md. (April 1, 2010)--The Mount St. Mary's men's tennis team edged Robert Morris, 4-3, at the Mount St. Mary's Tennis Courts on Thursday afternoon. Mount freshman Taylor Small rallied for a three-set victory at No. 5 singles to clinch the win.

With the match tied at 3-3, Place rallied for a 6-7, 7-6, 6-1 win over Liran Braun at the No. 5 singles position to seal the Mount's win. The Mount (10-6) has now won four straight matches, the last three coming by the score of 4-3.

Fellow freshmen Mike Salomon and Matthew Blake also won in singles play while senior Thad Mostowtt rallied for a three-set win as well. Salomon won his fifth-straight singles match with a 6-3,6-1 win over Igor Neves at No. 2 singles. Blake improved to 13-3 on the year in singles action with a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 6 singles. Mostowtt earned a 2-6, 6-3, 6-4 win at No. 3 singles for the Mount.

The Mount returns to action on April 7 with a match at Loyola (Md.).
