Emmitsburg, Md. (September 20, 2009)--Freshman Taylor Place (Snellville, Ga./St. Pius X) earned a come-from-behind win at No. 5 singles to clinch the Mount St. Mary's men's tennis team's 4-3 victory over Saint Francis (Pa.) at the MSM Tennis Courts.

Place posted a 6-7, 6-3, 6-2 win over Nate Fleming at No. 5 singles to propel the Mount to the victory. The Mountaineers won four of six singles matches for the win in the match.

At No. 2 singles, Mike Salomon (Haymarket, Va./Seton School) downed Stephan Child, 6-4, 7-5, for the Mount (2-0). Andrew Marinucci (Hatboro, Pa./Hatboro-Horsham) won at No. 4 singles, 6-4, 6-4, while Matthew Blake (Garnet Valley, Pa./Salesianum [Del.]) won 7-5, 6-2, at No. 6 singles.

The Mount returns to action next Sunday with an 11:00 a.m. home match against LaSalle.
