Mount St. Mary's junior Emily Bolchoz (Tequesta, Fla./Kolbe
Academy) was named the Northeast Conference Player of the Week
after an undefeated weekend at the Towson Tiger 4+1 Classic to open
the 2009-10 season. It is the fourth time in her career that she
has been named NEC Player of the Week.
Bolchoz, who has been named the NEC Player of the Week for the
first week of the season in each of the past three years, was 2-0
at the No. 2 singles spot for the Mount at the Towson Tiger 4+1
Classic. She had victories over George Mason's Alison Wingo and
Loyola's Carrie Swann to improve to 41-17 in her career in singles
matches at the Mount. She also teamed with NEC Rookie of the Week
Renee Deane (Cape Coral, Fla./Cape Coral) for a straight-set win at
No. 1 doubles in the Mount's victory over Saint Joseph's.
