Emmitsburg, Md. (April 5, 2009)--The Mount St.
Mary's women's tennis team earned a 7-0 win over visiting Monmouth
at the MSM Tennis Courts on Sunday afternoon. With the win, the
Mount improves on the season.
In singles action, the Mount did not lose a set in any of the six
matches. Emily Bolchoz earned a 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 1 singles over
Sarah Ragan while Chelsea Johnson posted a 6-1, 6-2 win at No. 2
singles over Kaitlin Gallagher. Kaitlin Hallahan cruised to a 6-0,
6-1 win at No. 3 with Emma Haley downing Jessica Tierney, 6-0, 6-2
at No. 4 singles. Emily Grugan earned a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 5
singles while Lauren Clark won at No. 6.
In doubles, the Mount won two of three matches to earn the point.
Bolchoz and Haley earned an 8-2 win at No. 1 doubles with Hallahan
and Johnson taking an 8-0 win at No. 2.
The Mount returns to action on Thursday when they travel to NEC
rival Robert Morris.
