Emmitsburg, Md. (April 5, 2009)--The Mount St.
Mary's men's tennis team fell to Monmouth, 6-1, at the MSM Tennis
Courts on Sunday afternoon. With the loss, the Mount falls to 3-14
on the season.
Senior Favio Osorio provided the Mount's point with a 6-3, 6-2 win
over Ben Evenden at the No. 1 singles spot. The Hawks won the
other five matches in straight sets. Andrew Marinucci fell to Vik
Gupta, 7-5, 6-0 at the No. 2 singles spot while Patrick Plastow
lost to Laurance Heads, 6-3, 6-4, at No. 3 singles.
In doujbles play, Plastow and Marinucci downed Evenden and Ian
Terpilowski, 9-8 (7-5) at No. 1 singles, but the Hawks took the
other two matches to grab the doubles point.
The Mount returns to action on Wednesday against Howard at
home.
