Emmitsburg, Md. (April 2, 2009)--Mount St. Mary's women's tennis
clipped Loyola, 4-3, at the MSM Tennis Courts on Thursday
afternoon. Emma
Haley's win at No.4 singles clinched the match for the
Mountaineers.
The Mount won at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles to take the doubles
point. Haley and Emily
Bolchoz won at the No. 1 spot over Rachel Janasek and Caitlyn
Day, 8-6. The Mount's Chelsea
Johnson and Kaitlin
Hallahan prevailed at No. 2 doubles, 8-4, over Andie
Keyser-Baker and Joy Johnson.
In singles action, Johnson was an easy 6-3, 6-0 winner over Day at
the No. 2 singles spot while Bolchoz won in straight sets, 6-3,
6-4, at No. 1 singles over Janasek. Haley's come-from-behind 5-7,
6-4, 6-4 win over Kerri Swan at No. 4 singles clinched the win.
The Mount returns to action on Saturday, April 4, when NEC rival
Saint Francis (Pa.) visits the MSM Tennis Courts at noon.
