April 14, 2009--The Mount St. Mary's men's and
women's tennis teams have canceled today's match against the
University of the District of Columbia due to rain.
The Mount heads to the Northeast
Conference Championships which begin on Friday.
The Mount men's team enters the NEC Tournament with a 3-16 overall
record and a 1-3 mark in the Northeast Conference. The
Mountaineers are seeded sixth for the Northeast Confernece
Championships which will begin Friday, April 17, at Mercer County
Park in West Windsor, N.J.
The Mountaineers will face third-seeded Quinnipiac in the NEC
Quarterfinals not before 2:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bobcats defeated
the Mount, 7-0, earlier this season at the MSM Tennis Courts.
The Mount women's team is 9-9 this season and holds a 4-1 mark
against NEC opponents. The Mountaineers are seeded fifth for the
Northeast Conference Championships which will begin Friday, April
17, at Mercer County Park in West Windsor, N.J.
The Mount will face fourth-seeded Sacred Heart in the NEC
Quarterfinals not before 11:30 a.m. on Friday.
The Mountaineers have advanced to the NEC semfinals in each of the
past five seasons, including a 4-0 win over Sacred Heart last year
in the NEC Quarterfinals.
