Mount Men's and Women's Tennis Teams Fall to Bucknell

Emmitsburg, Md. (March 24, 2009)--The Mount St. Mary's men's and women's tennis teams lost to Bucknell on Tuesday afternoon at the MSM Tennis Courts on campus. Each team fell by identical 7-0 scores.

For the women, senior Katilin Hallahan dropped a hard-fought three-set match to Dumitra Iepuras, 7-5, 6-1, 10-6, at the No. 3 singles position. At No. 2 singles, Chelsea Johnson battled Lauren Lucido, falling in three sets, 4-6, 6-1, 6-0. The Bison won the other four singles matches in straight sets while sweeping the doubles matches for the doubles point. The Mount is now 5-9 on the season with the loss.

For the men, Thad Mostowtt dropped a 6-3, 7-6 (11-9) match to Gregg Cohenca at the No. 4 singles spot. At No. 2 doubles, Mostowtt and Favio Osorio were edged by Dan Bednarek and Mark Malloy, 9-8 (7-1). WIth the loss, the Mount falls to 2-12 on the season.

Both teams return to action on Saturday when they travel to George Mason.
