Emmitsburg, Md. (March 21, 2009)--The Mount St. Mary's men's tennis
team was downed by Delaware, 7-0, at the MSM Tennis Courts on
Saturday afternoon.
Delaware (5-2) swept the three doubles matches to earn the doubles
point. The Mount's No. 1 tandem of Andrew Marinucci and Patrick
Plastow fell to Austin Longacre and Nolan Greenberg, 8-4. Courtney
Scott and Chris Hincker earned an 8-3 win over the Mount's Favio
Osorio and Thad Mostowtt at No. 2 doubles while the Mount's No. 3
pair of Sam Walton and Jastin Mostowtt were swept 8-0 by Delaware's
Andre Vorobyov and Camilo Perez.
In singles action, Thad Mostowtt was
edged at No. 4 singles by Sam Barrer, 6-4, 7-6, 13-11, in a
hard-fought match. Osorio fell at No. 1 singles to Longacre, 6-1,
6-2, while Marinucci dropped a 6-2, 6-1 match to Vorobyov at No. 2
singles.
