Emmitsburg, Md. (October 10, 2009)--The Mount St. Mary's men's tennis team moved to 3-0 on the season with a 7-0 sweep of visiting Wagner at the MSM Tennis Courts on Saturday afternoon.

In doubles action, the Mount won all three matches without dropping a game to earn the doubles point. Andrew Marinucci and Mike Salomon posted an 8-0 win over Taylor Santoro and Yirmeyah Beckles at the No. 1 doubles spot in the lineup. At No. 2 doubles, Thad Mostowtt and Taylor Place posted an 8-0 win over Zac Lewis and Scott Scriffignano while Patrick Plastow and Jastin Mostowtt defeated Pierre Yuzon and Nick Apicella, 7-0, at No. 3 doubles.

In singles play, Plastow won at No. 1 singles, 6-4,6 -4, over Santoro while Salomon downed Beckles, 6-1, 6-1, at No. 2. Thad Mostowtt earned a 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 3 singles while the Mount swept the final three singles matches by 6-0, 6-0 scores. Marinucci defeated Scriffignano at No. 4, Place defeated Lewis at No. 5 and Jastin Mostowtt downed Apicella at No. 6 singles, respectively.

The Mount returns to action on Sunday, October 18, with a home match against Delaware State.
