Mount St. Mary's sophomore Emily Bolchoz (Tequesta,
Fla./Kolbe Academy) has been named the Northeast
Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week. Bolchoz went 3-0 for
the Mount at the Towson Tiger 4+1 Classic this past Saturday.
Bolchoz earned wins at No. 1 and No. 2 singles at the Towson Tiger
Classic, including a tiebreaker victory over Georgetown's Caroline
Kuehn at the No. 1 singles spot, In her other two matches, Bolchoz
cruised to easy wins over Lauren Cassle of Loyola (6-1, 6-2) and
Katy Borden of Saint Joseph's (6-0, 6-0). The three singles
victories improved Bolchoz's career record to 27-8 at the Mount in
singles competition.
This is Bolchoz's second career NEC Player of the Week nod. Last
year, she also earned the first NEC Player of the Week award of the
year.
