The Mount St. Mary's men's tennis team lost to Monmouth, 4-0, in
the quarterfinal round of the NEC Tournament held at the West
Windsor Tennis Center in West Windsor, N.J. The Mount falls to
5-15 with the loss and will face Saint Francis (Pa.) in a
consolation match tomorrow morning.
In singles play, Ben Evenden defeated Favio Osorio, 6-1, 6-2, at
the No. 1 spot in the lineup. Vik Gupta defeated Rob Dupaya, 6-1,
6-0, at the No. 5 spot while Tim McLane defeated Mickey Poirier,
6-1, 6-1, at the No. 6 position.
Monmouth took two doubles matches to earn the doubles point to
start the match.
The Mount will face Saint Francis (Pa.)
in a consolation match at 9:00 am tomorrow morning.
